Umi Falafel Dublin, Best Veg & Vegan Eatery at 3 City Corners

My search for the ultimate meal generally crashes into a food weariness wall: another lackluster salad, another oily burger, another night of culinary compromise. My palate was yearning for something new, something clean, but profoundly satisfying, a flavor bomb that actually lived up to its authenticity.

I was specifically in search of that ideal falafel: crispy on the outside, light and scented within. Finding a genuinely top-notch one in Dublin was a quest in earnest. And on a spontaneous lunchtime break, I stumbled upon the branch on Mary Street. That first bite of the Palestinian falafel was like an untainted, soul-sustaining comfort, and I was addicted.

As you’ve already guessed, it was my mission soon to find out if this heavenly standard and welcoming ambiance were duplicated. This is my story of how Umi Falafel Dublin became my go-to vegetarian paradise, and why you can trust all the hype in every single corner of the city.

Umi Falafel Dublin

Mary St.

My vegetarian paradise invention happened so randomly. I slid into this restaurant for a quick lunch grab, but I was completely captivated. Umi Falafel Dublin is at 4 Mary St, North City. I decided to check online for food recommendations from their menu and was surprised to see a 4.6 Google rating with 933 reviews and a 4.5 rating on TripAdvisor with 1050 reviews!! After tasting their food, I was sure those people online weren’t kidding. Umi doesn’t play with their food. It got me hooked, and I ended up visiting them almost every vegetarian day for lunch.

The atmosphere is chill and cozy. They have indoor seating with no waiting line. And the noise was moderate. Quiet and calming vibes. I really felt comfortable. I was really surprised by how many vegan and vegetarian options there were. It’s very rare to see it nowadays. They have a kids’ menu and halal food too.

But my reaction escalated really quickly when I had a taste of their food. It was what they call “Soul food”!! The Palestinian falafel tastes so fresh and high-quality. The flavors were bubbling in my mouth. The portion size was large. Palestinian falafel with tabbouleh salad rocks. The chai iced tea was delicious, too.

Probably, the nicest staff I’ve ever met. They are very friendly and always smiling. They were helpful too. I was really impressed by their service. I felt like I was at home.

By only spending €8, I got my stomach and soul full. It was so delicious that I’m craving Umi Falafel Dublin’s food again while writing it. I might go there for a parcel now. They don’t take any reservations, and as there’s no waiting line, you are always welcomed with ease and comfort.

George’s Street

I already said Umi got me hooked. I was so hooked that I decided to visit Umi at George’s Street Arcade, South-East Inner City, Dublin. Surprised again, not surprised at their 4.6 Google rating with 569 reviews and 4.4 rating on TripAdvisor. But this time I wasn’t alone. I decided to bring my foodie friend with me.

The atmosphere was casual and cozy. It had Middle Eastern decor, which we found so beautiful. I appreciate how the surface was very neat and clean in a charming market in the heart of Dublin. Their vegan menu is my delicious escapism from heavy foods like burgers or fries.

We ordered the Palestinian Falafel Combo. The crispy warm wrap with falafel, humus, tomato, cucumber, and onion would fill up a hungry diner’s stomach and soul. The ingredients are fresh, tasty, and taste too good to be so healthy. Their halloumi sticks with the mango sauce were just the absolute best. I get why it’s a popular dish.

Their staff surprises me every time. They are so helpful and caring. And the smile is never leaving their face. You will always feel so welcoming. There were kids playing around too, which they didn’t seem to mind. It was so refreshing for us.

I’m so in love with Umi Falafel Dublin’s food that I’d want you to try their every food because skipping one is like missing a whole different nation of flavors and taste. But you can’t skip their Halloumi sticks with the mango sauce. That’s a must-eat, my friend.

Rathmines Rd

My last stop for falafel hunting was Umi Falafel Dublin at 180 Rathmines Rd, Dublin. This one has a 4.6 Google rating with 903 reviews and a 4.5 rating on TripAdvisor. Umi Falafel Dublin is very famous online. During COVID, it was everyone’s favorite place to get food delivery. I mean, they serve delicious food at an affordable price while maintaining their large portion size, so, of course, it deserves the hype.

The place is clean, simple, and has a nice vibe. What impresses me is that every Umi Falafel Dublin spot is neat and clean. If your eating spot is clean and neat, eating food gets instantly better. The menu always makes me want to order all the food- they just look irresistible.

Got ourselves halloumi sandwiches – and the taste was just mind-blowing. They serve the most delicious hummus and falafel I’ve ever tasted. The portion sizes are impressively large and provide great value for money. Their baba ganoush and hummus have some special ingredients that make them the best in town!

The service is outstanding, with staff always ensuring that guests have the best dining experience. The overall ambiance was very laid back. We chatted with ease.  A mention must go to the young Spanish woman who was serving us. She was a truly lovely person, so chatty and friendly, and she made the experience even better.

Seriously, though- if you want to experience a good time with mouthwatering, delicious foods, you have to stop by Umi Falafel Dublin. Trying their food will make you believe vegetarian food can easily compete with non-veg.

My final verdict on Umi Falafel Dublin

Umi Falafel Dublin lives up to its reputation as one of the city’s best vegetarian-friendly spots. With crispy falafel, creamy hummus, and generous portions at affordable prices, it’s a restaurant that balances authenticity with comfort. The way they use fresh, organic, and authentic ingredients, which makes their food one of the best in the town, won my heart.

After my Umi Falafel adventure, I’m sure about one thing— sometimes happiness really does come as simple as a Falafel. Umi is officially my go-to spot when I need something filling, fresh, and affordable. Dublin foodies, trust me, your next worthy bites should be from Umi Falafel Dublin.
