Bregagh House
I recently stayed at this charming guesthouse in Kilkenny and had a truly enjoyable experience. It’s located right in the city centre, so everything from shops and cafés to historic sites is just a short stroll away. One of the best parts was having St. Canice’s Cathedral directly across the road. I climbed the Round Tower for a stunning view of the city, and it was a great way to start the trip.
The guesthouse itself is warm, inviting and run by a lovely family who clearly take pride in what they do. My room was spotlessly clean, tastefully decorated and included everything I needed like TV, hairdryer, en suite bathroom and reliable WiFi. There’s a conservatory and garden available for guests, and I found them perfect for unwinding after a day of exploring.

Breakfast each morning was a highlight. Guests can choose between a hearty full Irish breakfast or a continental option with cereals, yogurts, fresh fruit, juices and cheeses. Everything was made fresh and served with care. It made a great start to the day. The staff were always friendly and available to offer recommendations, directions or even just a friendly chat.
Although the room was on the smaller side for two people with large bags, it was very comfortable and thoughtfully arranged. The overall experience more than made up for the minor inconvenience. Private on-site parking was another big plus, especially given how central the location is.
This guesthouse is not only great for solo travellers or couples but also ideal for larger group bookings like family gatherings, wedding guests or group tours. The team seems very accommodating and encourages direct contact for those types of arrangements.
For inquiries or group bookings, you can reach them by email at info@bregaghhouse.com or call +353 (0)56 7722315. I highly recommend it and would gladly stay again. If you’re looking for something similar to affordable hotels in Killarney town center, this kind of stay is a great benchmark. It also fits right in with anyone searching for ideas on where to stay in Killarney on a budget.
The Nore River House
I stayed at Nore River House during a weekend getaway with friends and it turned out to be the perfect base for exploring Kilkenny. The guesthouse is ideally located within easy walking distance of the city centre, placing us just steps from iconic attractions like Kilkenny Castle, Rothe House, and the Medieval Mile Museum.
For those craving more local charm, the Jurassic Newpark Dinosaur Park and Smithwick’s Experience were also a quick stroll away. The gentle riverside walk by Greens Bridge added a peaceful rhythm to our daily wanderings. With Kilkenny Railway Station just about a kilometer away, planning day trips was a breeze and even Waterford or Dublin Airport felt conveniently within reach.

The rooms were immaculate, stylishly cozy and kitted out with thoughtful touches like high-speed internet, satellite TV, and a handy tea and coffee setup. The bathrooms felt luxurious, offering walk-in showers, relaxing baths, plush dressing gowns, and complimentary toiletries. Thanks to the soundproofed windows and allergy-friendly features, we slept peacefully every night.
We especially loved the large shared kitchen stocked with a self-serve breakfast spread, fresh fruits, cereals, yogurts, and enough coffee options to please any caffeine lover. The quiet garden and its little fishpond became our go-to spot to unwind.
Our host was genuinely warm and helpful, offering local tips, a cheerful attitude, and even the occasional lift when needed. The location also made it easy to enjoy outdoor activities like golf, archery, horseback riding, and tennis. Whether you’re traveling as a couple or with friends, the experience here was seamless.

Killarney Dromhall Hotel
I stayed at the Dromhall Hotel in Killarney during a week-long holiday exploring the breathtaking Ring of Kerry and nearby national parks. The location is spot on, only a 10-minute walk from the heart of town and a stone’s throw from the Killarney Racecourse. It felt close to everything yet peaceful enough to unwind properly.
The room we were given was bright, spacious, and styled with a timeless elegance. Crisp sheets, soft lighting, and thoughtful touches like air conditioning, satellite TV, and a tea and coffee station made it feel instantly welcoming. The bathroom had a strong, satisfying shower and nice complimentary toiletries. The only odd detail was the separate hot and cold taps, a quirky, old-school touch that felt more nostalgic than practical.

We made full use of the hotel’s Club Santé Leisure Center. After long scenic drives and hikes, sinking into the steam room or taking a dip in the pool felt like a reward. I also treated myself to a massage at the Zen Day Spa, and it genuinely helped me recharge. Evenings were usually spent at Kayne’s Bar & Brasserie where we enjoyed flavorful dinners, sipped craft cocktails, and occasionally lingered over a second glass of wine while chatting with the warm, attentive staff. Their kindness especially stood out during a small medical scare. They didn’t just help, they cared.
Breakfast each morning was another reason I’d come back. The mix of buffet and made-to-order dishes meant there was something for every mood. From buttery pastries to freshly cooked eggs, everything arrived hot and satisfying. It’s easy to see why this place is popular among travelers looking for low-cost Killarney accommodations with breakfast that still feel indulgent.
The free parking and fast Wi-Fi were definite perks, and while a few corners of the hotel showed a bit of age, the overall atmosphere felt well kept and cared for. For couples like us wanting a balance between comfort and calm, this felt like one of the best quiet cheap hotels in Killarney for couples. Booking was smooth and secure through their website, and I’d absolutely stay again.

Killeen House Hotel
We stayed at Killeen House Hotel during our trip around the Ring of Kerry and it quickly became one of the most memorable parts of our visit to Ireland. Located just outside Killarney, this charming country house felt like a peaceful escape with its 1.5 acres of beautifully maintained gardens and open views of the surrounding countryside. It was close enough to explore the town, yet far enough to enjoy real tranquillity.
The room was cozy, clean, and had everything we needed including a flat-screen TV, en suite bathroom, free Wi-Fi, and comfortable beds. We were especially happy to learn the hotel is pet friendly which made it feel even more like home. Free on-site parking made things easy and the availability of EV charging stations was a thoughtful touch.

The evenings were a real treat. The bar was inviting and well stocked and the staff had great cocktail recommendations. But Rozzers Restaurant was the real star. The food was spectacular, made with local ingredients, and the candlelit atmosphere made each dinner feel special. Breakfast was fresh and plentiful although the options for vegans felt limited and could be improved.
One small issue was the Wi-Fi signal in our room which was a bit unreliable at times. It wasn’t a major problem especially when the lounge offered a stronger connection but something to keep in mind if you’re working remotely or need consistent internet.
If you’re browsing cheap B&Bs in Killarney near the city center but craving something with more charm and countryside views, this hotel strikes a perfect balance. Our room was stylish, spacious, and the bed was incredibly comfortable, which was perfect after long days of hiking and sightseeing with the kids. The bathrooms had great water pressure and modern fittings, making it a treat to freshen up.

One of our favorite parts was dining at The Lane, the hotel’s restaurant. The food was fresh, locally sourced, and beautifully presented. Salmon Leap Farm B&B
Our stay at Salmon Leap Farm just outside Killarney was one of the most heartwarming and memorable parts of our Ireland trip. We chose it hoping for a quiet countryside break and were absolutely delighted. The house, over 300 years old, has a rich sense of history, yet everything inside is spotless, thoughtfully arranged, and extremely comfortable.
Sean and his mother Sheila welcomed us so kindly that we instantly felt like we were visiting family. On arrival, we were offered a pot of warm tea, and every detail afterward reflected genuine care. Our room had a beautiful view of green hills, the linens smelled fresh, and the shower was modern and powerful. Breakfast each morning was freshly prepared and delicious. The porridge was especially unforgettable, rich and buttery. We loved how peaceful the place was and how well we slept.

We also appreciated how Sean shared local tips for exploring Killarney and nearby sights. The B&B sits in a quiet valley on an active farm where herbs and produce are grown sustainably. You’re close enough to enjoy Killarney National Park, the Ring of Kerry, and scenic hillwalking routes, but far enough to enjoy true calm. Free WiFi, private parking, a lovely garden, and a cozy guest sitting room added to our comfort.

Killarney Court Hotel
Just back from our fourth stay at Killarney Court Hotel and it was once again such a joy. The kind of place that makes you feel relaxed the moment you walk in. Even during a packed bank holiday weekend, the hotel remained calm, spotless, and so well run. It’s rare to see that level of consistency.
We genuinely enjoyed every part of our stay. The rooms were cosy, newly refurbished, and had a fresh, modern feel. Beds were incredibly comfortable and we all slept like babies. The bathrooms were clean, bright, and had great water pressure which we appreciated after long days out exploring.

The food was another highlight. Breakfast had plenty of variety , reat quality, fresh, and delicious. We also ate in the hotel’s bar a few times and loved every meal. The spice bag and chicken pasta were big hits at our table. It was easy to get seats even as a group, and the staff were always welcoming and efficient.
Our group climbed Carrauntoohil during this trip and returning to the hotel each evening felt like coming back home. Hot showers, a warm meal, friendly faces, exactly what we needed. There was a genuine sense of hospitality throughout, and staff members checked in with us, asked how the dinner went, and offered helpful suggestions for local pubs and spots to explore.
We laughed a lot, rested well, and left feeling refreshed. The hotel’s location made things so convenient too, just a short stroll to town, with a petrol station and essentials right next door.
Killarney Court Hotel is a place we keep coming back to, and for good reason. It’s the comfort, the people, the food, and the little thoughtful touches that make all the difference. Killarney Glamping At The Grove
Our stay at Killarney Glamping was hands down one of the most memorable and comforting experiences we’ve had. My partner and I planned this little getaway to take a break from the rush of city life and spend some peaceful time together and this place delivered beyond expectations.
We booked one of the meadow cabins, and from the moment we arrived, we felt like we had stepped into our own little world. The cabin was beautifully designed with a cozy king-size bed, a spotless en-suite bathroom, and a small but well-equipped kitchenette. We especially loved the heated patio where we enjoyed morning coffee and late-night chats under the stars. The ambiance was quiet, romantic, and incredibly peaceful like you could hear the birds, the breeze, and the gentle flow of the river nearby.

One of our favorite parts was the private riverside sauna. It was set in a secluded spot with a breathtaking view of the river and surrounding greenery. It felt like a luxury spa hidden in the woods. We spent a full hour just unwinding there and honestly didn’t want to leave. Afterward, we used the outdoor BBQ to cook dinner and had the most relaxing evening on the deck, wrapped in blankets, with fairy lights all around. It was simple, beautiful, and perfect.
We also appreciated how close it was to Killarney Town and Killarney National Park. Within minutes, we were exploring local cafes, walking through the national park, and soaking in some of Kerry’s best views. Yet when we came back to the site, it felt like we were miles away from the bustle.
Honestly, if you’re a couple looking to disconnect and enjoy each other’s company in a serene, beautifully crafted space Killarney Glamping is the place. Every detail is taken care of, and the staff are kind, responsive, and genuinely care about your experience. We left with full hearts and can’t wait to return. The staff were friendly and welcoming throughout our stay, always ready to help and make us feel comfortable. Our family room was spacious, clean, and had everything we needed to relax after long days exploring the town and surrounding nature.
We loved starting our mornings on the balcony, soaking in stunning views and enjoying a breakfast that offered a wide variety including smoked salmon, which was a real treat. The kids had a blast with the hotel’s entertainment and activities, and we found plenty of options for dining that catered to everyone’s tastes and dietary needs. The leisure centre and swimming pool were a hit for the whole family, providing a great way to unwind and have fun together.

Location-wise, the hotel was perfect for accessing Killarney’s highlights like the national park and local shops. We appreciated the clean, eco-friendly initiatives like water filters and no plastic toiletries, which showed their commitment to sustainability. It reminded me of how affordable Killarney B&Bs with parking and green practices can offer just as much value as larger hotels when done right. It was clear that the team cared about providing an excellent experience from the food quality to the personalized service.
Overall, our stay was comfortable, fun, and filled with great memories.
